Affordable Dentures & Dental Partials
Dentures, either partial or full, can play an important role in the restoration of your smile, and your confidence and most importantly, the chewing capability.
Tooth loss is something that we would like to see our patients avoid if at all possible. However, we understand that there are instances in which replacement may become necessary. When dentures are the most appropriate solution, our patients can trust that we put a great deal of effort into the creation of a lifelike fixture that fits incredibly well.
Partial dentures replace several teeth. They are stabilized by natural teeth, usually by some type of clasp. A full denture for the upper or lower arch relies on suction for stability. However, the advances in dental technology have brought another option for denture stabilization, dental implants.
Dental implants are a preferred method of tooth replacement for many patients today. There is no other treatment that can restore such a high degree of stability. Many patients report feeling no difference between their implants and natural teeth – and that says a lot! The combination of a few implants and a full denture can be life changing for the patient who needs full mouth replacement. This is often referred to as all-on-four treatment. During your consultation, you will be provided with the information you need to make a confident decision about the treatment that is right for you.
Historically, dentures have been made with a combination of metal framework and acrylic or plastic gums and teeth. Dr. Lin prefers to create restorations without the use of metal. Partials are made on a lifelike flexible base that creates a precision fit and greater comfort. Acrylic based full dentures look far more natural than the plastic dentures our grandparents wore.
Immediate dentures available
Many patients are concerned about having to spend time without teeth. We understand! If extractions are necessary and tooth replacement will include dentures, we can plan to seat a temporary restoration immediately following tooth extraction. This method is appealing because not one day is spent without teeth, and because the immediate placement of the denture can also minimize post-extraction swelling. After the gums and bone have settled, a final denture can be designed.
Dentures are an excellent solution for many people who need to replace several teeth or all teeth. To consult with an experienced dentist about dentures, call Sun Smile Dental in San Marcos.
